NEW YORK (AP) - PATH train service has been disrupted after a train struck and killed a woman in a Manhattan station.

A Port Authority spokesman says the woman was struck by a train at around 1 p.m. Saturday at the 14th Street station.

The spokesman says the woman was conscious when she was taken to the hospital but she was later pronounced dead. Her name was not immediately released.

Police are investigating how the woman ended up on the tracks.

Service between Journal Square and 33rd Street via Hoboken was suspended during the investigation but resumed by 6 p.m. Saturday. Service continued on the Newark to World Trade Center line and between Journal Square and Hoboken.
