HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) - Police say a man was arrested after he drove his car through the front door and into the lobby of a Connecticut hotel.

New England Cable News reports (https://bit.ly/1LX7wjq ) Corey Merritt was charged Sunday with reckless driving and driving under a suspended license.

Witnesses told police that Merritt’s car had been sitting in the parking lot in Hamden for several minutes. The car then went across a cement median, busted through the glass doors and lobby and rammed through the reservation desk. No one was injured.

Firefighters were able to back the car out and had it towed.

Police say Merritt told them he fell asleep at the wheel. Investigators don’t think alcohol was a factor.
