Nebraska (5-7, Big Ten) vs UCLA (8-4, Pac-12), Dec. 26, 9:15 p.m. EST.

LOCATION: Santa Clara, Calif.


Nebraska: QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. threw for 2,856 yards and 21 touchdowns but was intercepted 16 times.

UCLA: RB Paul Perkins rushed for 1,575 yards, averaging 6.3 yards per carry. He scored nine touchdowns. He was the fourth-leading rusher in the Pac-12.


Nebraska: Huskers struggled in the first season under coach Mike Riley, who moved from Oregon State. Nebraska lost six games by five points or less. Nebraska is one of three 5-7 teams to get a bowl berth.

UCLA: The Bruins were in position to win the Pac-12 South title but lost to rival USC 40-21.


Bruins won 41-21 on Sept. 14, 2014, to even series at 6-6.


Nebraska: Huskers have a 25-26 bowl record and have played in a bowl game the last eight seasons in a row. Nebraska has lost four of its last five bowl games.

UCLA: Bruins are 16-17-1 in bowl games, beating Kansas State 40-35 in last season’s Alamo Bowl.
