ATHENS, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a man accused of fatally shooting another man during a social event in northern Alabama has been arrested.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Officer investigator Leslie Ramsey tells the Decatur Daily (https://bit.ly/1NclY99 ) that 21-year-old Randall James Townsend has been charged with murder in the death of 24-year-old Zachori Keith Blackwell. The incident occurred Saturday morning at Xtreme Performance.

Ramsey says Townsend was intoxicated and struck his wife, being aggressive toward others before forcing his wife to leave. Ramsey says Townsend shot seven rounds, five of them hitting Blackwell.

Ramsey says Blackwell was shot three times in the back.

Townsend is being held at the Limestone County Jail on a $20,000 bond. It’s not clear whether Townsend has an attorney.
