SAN LORENZO, Calif. (AP) - Police say a man who had apparently abandoned his car after a crash on Northern California highway was killed while trying to run across several lanes of traffic.

The California Highway Patrol says Bryant Lolohea of Hayward was driving north Saturday morning when his Cadillac rear-ended a passengers van near the Paseo Grande exit.

The Oakland Tribune reports (https://bayareane.ws/1OOfP5G) police say the 27-year-old man got out of his car, jumped over the median wall and tried to run across the southbound lanes, but was fatally struck by several cars

Police say the passengers of the rear-ended van narrowly escaped injury by getting out of the van before it was hit by several other vehicles.
