BOONEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police say a man is facing a murder charge for fatally stabbing a Madison County dispatcher.

According to WKYT-TV (https://bit.ly/1ObTlZE), the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Investigators say 25-year-old Dustin Sparks stabbed 28-year-old Benjamin Brewer in the neck with a knife after an argument broke out between the two while at a party at an Owsley County home.

Sparks was arrested after the incident, and authorities say he was highly intoxicated at the scene.

A motive in the stabbing has not been released.

Sparks was being held Sunday in the Three Forks Regional Jail on $500,000 bond. It isn’t immediately clear if Sparks has an attorney.

Authorities say Brewer is the second Madison County dispatcher to die tragically in recent months. In September, dispatcher Jackie Rose was shot and killed in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide.

“This obviously brings back feelings and opens wounds that people here are still trying to deal with,” said Kentucky State Police Trooper Robert Purdy.
