ROYALTON, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say a construction worker has died after being run over by a dump truck outside a high school in central Minnesota.

KSTP-TV reports it happened Friday at Royalton High School in Royalton. The victim was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he died shortly after 1 p.m. that day.

The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office identifies the man as 60-year-old Vernon Barthel of Rice.

The medical examiner says Barthel died from multiple blunt force injuries after being run over by a vehicle.

Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen tells the Star Tribune a dump truck backed over Barthel near the school bus garage.
