BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - A third person has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a burning body near railroad tracks in Massachusetts.

Prosecutors say Ovi Cruz, of Randolph, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on a charge of misleading police.

Prosecutors say Cruz lied to police about how well he knew Fernando Owens, the 43-year-old Boston man who faces a murder charge in the death of New Jersey native Ashley Bortner, whose body was found in Bridgewater on Nov. 3. Owens remains at large.

Cruz told investigators he didn’t know Owens well and spoke to him once, but according to authorities, cellphone records indicate Cruz and Owens spoke several times Nov. 3 and 4.

A New Hampshire husband and wife face charges of accessory after the fact of murder in Bortner’s death.
