CANONSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Six schools in two western Pennsylvania school districts were closed for the day due to water main breaks.

Peters Township High School and Pleasant Valley Elementary School closed Monday after a water line broke in front of the high school about 6 a.m. Both schools are about 15 miles southwest of Pittsburgh and belong to a district that just resumed classes Nov. 27 following a teachers’ strike for several weeks.

In Georges Township, Fayette County, the Albert Gallatin Area School District canceled classed at its high school and three elementary schools. That district is about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh.
