BURKE, Vt. (AP) - The opening of a hotel in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom could be delayed up to a month.

Q Burke Mountain Resort general manager Bill Stenger tells The Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/1Qr8quR ) that the hotel had expected to open one of its two wings this Friday. Equipment delays are preventing that from happening and the hotel is not accepting new reservations for dates before Jan. 15.

Stenger says a lack of snow has pushed back the opening for skiing as well, which had been expected to open on Dec. 5. The ski resort is now planning to open on Dec. 18.

A resort spokeswoman says guests who planned to stay there between Dec. 11 and Dec. 17 have been offered either a full refund or to move their stay to Jay Peak.
