OSWEGO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a fisherman was pulled from the water after his small boat sank in an upstate New York river over the weekend.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/1lIjAQe ) a 21-year-old man anchored his boat to a wall Saturday morning on the Oswego River in Oswego. Fire officials say a strong current then filled the boat with water and sank it.

Officials say the man was tossed in the water and floated downstream before being rescued by a fellow boater.

The fisherman was wearing a cold weather flotation suit and wasn’t injured.
