CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) - Police have arrested a suspect in a bloody double stabbing in Central Falls over the weekend.

The 26-year-old suspect is charged with domestic assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the stabbings at a multifamily home just before 4 a.m. Sunday.

Officers dispatched to the Summer Street residence discovered a 42-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to the left side of his neck, chest and lower back. A 33-year-old man who was stabbed in his right hand was also found at the scene.

The victims are in the hospital in stable condition.

A witness told police that the assailant lives in an upstairs apartment. Police say officers followed a trail of blood to the suspect.
