FARGO, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota State’s star quarterback is going to resume practice this week, but it’s not certain whether he will be in the starting lineup for Saturday’s home playoff game against Northern Iowa.

Bison head coach Chris Klieman (KLY’-min) says Carson Wentz has ditched the brace he was wearing on his throwing wrist, which was broken during a loss to South Dakota six weeks ago. Klieman says Wentz began throwing the football late last week.

Wentz led the Bison to their fourth straight Football Championship Subdivision title last year. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound senior from Bismarck is considered by some to be one of the best NFL quarterback prospects and is scheduled to play in the Senior Bowl in January.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Easton Stick has a 6-0 record in Wentz’s absence.
