JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State University men’s and women’s track teams have combined for 19 event championships at a weekend meet.

The university says the teams combined for 40 top-three finishes during the two-day A-State Invitational in Jonesboro. Head coach Jim Patchell says the meet went incredibly well.

Sophomore Roelf Pienaar bested a 2001 school record in the long jump with a distance of 26 feet, 1 inch.

The Red Wolves return to action on Feb. 6 at the Nebraska Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
