HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford police are investigating the death of a man found severely injured on a road as a possible homicide.

Police said Sunday morning that the man was found at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Pope Park Highway.

When officers arrived, they found him unresponsive with traumatic injuries to several areas of his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene just before midnight.

Police also found two unoccupied vehicles at the scene, and investigators believe the man was struck by one of them.

Police said they are questioning a person of interest in the case.
