DENVER (AP) - A slow-moving storm headed to the Midwest dumped up to 9 inches of snow in the Denver metro area before moving on.

National Weather Service forecaster Kyle Fredin said the storm that hit overnight Sunday is the same storm that moved through southern Colorado on Saturday, adding 5 inches to the snowpack in Gunnison County.

He says the storm is taking its time moving across the United States, where it is expected to add more than a foot of snow in some places before making its way into New England, where many cities are still digging out from a winter walloping from early last week.

Areas of Boulder reported 9 inches of snow, Denver 6 inches, El Paso County 3 inches and Greeley got only a dusting.
