SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 2-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained during a condo fire in San Juan Capistrano that killed his mother and 3-year-old brother.

The Orange County Coroner’s office said Iker Liborio died in a hospital Friday afternoon, more than a week after the Jan. 20 fire that claimed the life of his older brother. The boys’ mother, 20-year-old Maricela Sanchez, died the day after the fire from burns and smoke inhalation.

Officials said the fire started in the morning while a child was playing with a lighter.

The Orange County Register reports (https://bit.ly/1yn0UoN) nine children and eight adults were living in the four-bedroom condo, which had no working smoke alarms. In all, nine people were injured and 80 people from eight surrounding condos were displaced.
