BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A trial is scheduled this spring for a Billings couple charged with killing their 10-week-old son and injuring his twin sister.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1DiHDbh ) that District Judge Mary Jane Knisely has set an April 20 trial date for Kayla Jean Edwards and Brandon Tory Edwards.

Kayla Edwrds is charged with deliberate homicide in the death of Tavaris Michael Edwards and felony assault on a minor for injuries to her daughter.

Brandon Edwards is charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and assault on a minor.

The boy died early on Dec. 27 at Children’s Hospital near Denver after being taken off life support. His sister was treated at a Billings hospital.

Both remain jailed and have attorneys appointed by the public defender’s office.
