MILWAUKEE (AP) - Two men are charged in connection with a string of robberies at fast food restaurants in Milwaukee and Greenfield.

Twenty-nine-year-old Govanni Martinez and 43-year-old Matthew Stehr are accused of robbing a McDonald’s and Subway in Milwaukee, as well as two Burger King locations in Greenfield, between Jan. 16 and 23. The men are charged with multiple counts of robbery, and both of them waived their preliminary hearing on Friday.

Authorities say Martinez implied he had a concealed weapon as he demanded cash from restaurant employees, while Stehr acted as the getaway driver in each robbery.

According to a criminal complaint, the men would often use the money to buy drugs.

Milwaukee police say they’re still searching for two suspects involved in a separate string of robberies in the area.
