DETROIT (AP) - A three-day event aims to showcase reasons to visit, work in and invest in Detroit.

The Detroit News reports (https://bit.ly/178Rkzu ) Jim Griffin and Lori Farlow are organizing the Thumbs Up Detroit Conference and Expo at Cobo Center. The conference is March 12 and feature speeches and breakout sessions. The expo takes place March 13 and 14.

Detroit emerged in December from the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history. Griffin says the city has “a lot for the rest of the world to see.”

Griffin has 200 booths for businesses and they are about 70 percent full. He’s seeking additional businesses to participate.

The event also is to feature creative work. A “Door of Opportunity” exhibit will include at least 70 doors painted by Detroit-area artists.
