ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - Three St. Charles officers narrowly escaped injury after an argument at a mixed martial arts event spilled onto the parking lot.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/16PNb2D ) reports that the argument broke out Saturday at the Family Arena. Police were called after 32-year-old Carla Garrett of East St. Louis, Illinois, allegedly showed a weapon during the argument.

Police say that when three officers tried to stop Garrett from leaving the parking lot, she accelerated her car at them. The officers were unhurt, though one allegedly rolled over the hood of Garrett’s car.

Garrett is charged with three counts of second-degree assault and one count of resisting arrest. She is jailed on $50,000 cash-only bond.

Garrett told police she pointed a high heel, not a gun. No weapon was found.
