JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - The Finance Committee of the Craighead County Quorum has held a meeting to discuss why the county has not billed for elections since 2012.

The Jonesboro Sun (https://bit.ly/16PWtf5 ) reports that the meeting focused on Sandra Taylor, the county election coordinator, and her inability to bill for the elections. In 2014, the county budgeted $90,000 for collection from elections. Documents provide by County Treasurer Terry McNatt revealed that no income was collected in 2014 and $1,000 was collected in 2013. McNatt presented the documents to the commission in early 2013.

Taylor, whose position as the coordinator is only part-time, said the elections have not been billed because she has not had the time. Taylor said that she has been busy with her full-time job at Kroger and dealing with her divorce.

The county is reimbursed the election costs by school, municipalities, or the state depending on the type of election.
