MILFORD, Del. (AP) - A Wilmington man has been arrested after police say they found more than 2,300 baggies of heroin in his car after he crashed while fleeing from troopers.

Delaware State Police say a trooper tried pull over a car speeding Monday night on State Route 1 near Milford. But the car fled at speeds of more than 100 mph.

Police say the trooper stopped pursuing the car for the safety reasons, and soon after saw that it had crashed into two telephone poles.

The driver, 25-year-old Ronald Brown of Wilmington, had non-life-threatening injuries. Police say they found 2,340 baggies of heroin and $2,000 in suspected drug proceeds inside his car.

Brown is charged with drug possession, disregarding a police signal, reckless driving, and other offenses. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
