GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A fire in a Grand Forks apartment injured one person and displaced more than a dozen other residents of the building.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze in the sixth-floor apartment Monday evening. Officials say fire damage was contained to the apartment, but there was smoke and water damage throughout the sixth floor and water damage to apartments below where the fire started.

The occupant of that apartment was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. At least 14 other residents of the building were displaced due to the damage. The Red Cross was helping them find temporary lodging.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
