LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Officials say Lafayette’s unified development code, now in its final draft, could go before the City-Parish Council for adoption by early May.

Lafayette Consolidated Government officials and consultant Mark White of White & Smith LLC summarized the UDC’s updated draft before more than 100 members of the Acadian Home Builders Association and the Realtor Association of Acadiana.

The Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/1ASV195) Monday’s session was an installment of PlanLafayette Week, which serves as an information tool and a “report card” on how successful the parish is in seeing out its 20-year comprehensive plan.

The unified development code was created as a rulebook for zoning and development standards to be used by LCG departments.
