TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A central New Jersey man who admitted sharing numerous files of child pornography online has been sentenced to three years in state prison.

State authorities say 61-year-old Jose Holguin, of Woodbridge, will also have to register as a sex offender under the sentence imposed Tuesday.

Holguin was one of 25 people charged in February 2013 as part of “Operation Ever Vigilant,” a multiagency investigation led by the state police and the state’s Division of Criminal Justice.

Holguin pleaded guilty last October to distributing and possessing child porn. He admitted using file sharing software to make multiple files containing the items available for any other user to download from a designated “shared folder” on his computer.
