OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Police say a man found dead near a car wreck in northern Utah died of self-inflicted knife wound.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers say search and rescue crews found the 49-year-old man’s body Monday, less than a mile away from the car totaled near the bottom of a ravine.

Sgt. Brian Nelson says it appears the man walked into a nearby field after the crash that was discovered Sunday, days after he was last seen by his wife.

The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports (https://bit.ly/1ATkyyR) police are investigating what caused the crash near Snowville and why the man left his car.
