SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police are searching for a woman who walked into a Salt Lake City TV anchorwoman’s home and threatened her family with a metal pry tool before stealing their car.

Authorities say the woman came in through the front door and demanded the car keys at the Millcreek home of Fox 13 anchor Kerri Cronk about 3 p.m. Monday.

Cronk says in a story posted on the station’s website that she was asleep when the woman threatened to hit her husband and son.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal says they turned over the keys and the woman drove off in their 2009 Honda Pilot.

Hoyal says the crime appears to be random, not related to Cronk’s position.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call police.
