POWELL, Wyo. (AP) - A 29-year-old Powell man has pleaded guilty to providing prescription painkillers to another man who died of an overdose.

The Powell Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1uAyfR9 ) Adam B. Mangold pleaded guilty on Thursday to felony delivery of a controlled substance and misdemeanor criminally negligent homicide in the December 2013 death of 25-year-old Bryson Herdt. Other charges are to be dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Herdt died of an overdose of fentanyl, a powerful prescription pain medication delivered through a patch.

Prosecutors say they plan to ask District Court Judge Steven Cranfill to sentence Mangold to eight to 10 years in prison. Defense attorney Nick Beduhn is free to argue for whatever sentence he feels is appropriate.
