FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A 35-year-old man suspected of firing a gun at a group of people in south Fairbanks is in custody.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (https://bit.ly/1IHoBCG) reports Bryon Kozevnikoff was arrested Sunday night.

He’s charged with attempted murder, felony assault, weapons misconduct and theft and is being held at Fairbanks Correctional Center.

Police say he stole a gun from an acquaintance and fired it Feb. 1 at the group of people.

Police had issued a public appeal for information on his location and received an anonymous tip. Officers arrested Kozevnikoff as he left a business on south Cushman Street.

Police say he was carrying a hammer, pepper spray and a butter knife.

Online court records did not indicate that he was represented by an attorney.
