GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) - The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is inviting the public to meet its new superintendent.

Cassius Cash will be at four open house events this month, two in Tennessee and two in North Carolina.

In a news release from the park, Cash said he looks forward to meeting and working with Smokies neighbors to build relationships that will enable them to protect the park together.

The open house events are as follows:

-Feb. 17 at the Oconaluftee (oh-kon-oh-LUHF’-tee) Administration Building near Cherokee, North Carolina

-Feb. 19 at the Barn Event Center in Townsend, Tennessee

-Feb. 24 at the Historic Calhoun House in Bryson City, North Carolina

-Feb. 26 at the Calhoun’s Banquet Room in Gatlinburg, Tennessee

All events take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
