BETHELEM, Pa. (AP) - Tim Kempton was 7 of 10 from the floor and 6 of 7 at the line for 20 points and Lehigh beat American University 65-58 on Thursday.

American jumped out early and led 13-4 just 4 ½ minutes in, but scored just six more points in the half as Lehigh outscored the Eagles 29-6 and led 33-19 at the break.

Charlie Jones made two free throws with 32 seconds left in the game to bring American within six points, but Lehigh went 10 of 10 from the line in the final minute to seal the win.

Lehigh (14-10, 8-5 Patriot) was 20 of 23 overall from the line. Austin Price scored 15 points for the Mountain Hawks and Kahron Ross added 10.

John Schoof led American (13-12, 6-7) with 21 points. Kevin Panzer had 11 and Pee Wee Gardner added 10.
