DENVER (AP) - Police are investigating after a light rail train hit and killed a pedestrian in downtown Denver.

The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/1zz5BLG ) the victim, whose name, age and gender have not been released, was hit near the Colorado Convention Center at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the Regional Transportation District reported a man playing near the tracks before the accident, but investigators are not sure if it was the same person who was struck and dragged under the train.

Jackson says it’s unclear where the pedestrian was hit or how far the victim was dragged.
