GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) - A man has been charged with capital murder in the death of a 27yearold Greenwood woman.

Assistant Police Chief Marvin Hammond Sr. says 46-year-old Ben Meeks III was arrested Tuesday at a local hotel.

Hammond tells The Greenwood Commonwealth (https://bit.ly/1uJD36J ) that Meeks is charged in the slaying of 27-year-old Reshunda Moore, who was found dead inside a home earlier Tuesday.

Meeks was being held in the Leflore County jail pending an initial court appearance. It is not clear if he has an attorney.

Hammond says relatives found Moore’s body inside the home where she had been living with Meeks. Hammond says the woman’s throat was slashed.
