EDINBURG, Texas (AP) - Kevin Mays led a balanced Cal State Bakersfield attack with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Roadrunners beat Texas-Pan American 66-54 on Thursday night.

It was Mays’ eighth double-double of the season.

Aly Ahmed and Brent Wrapp had 13 points apiece for Bakersfield (10-15, 5-4 Western Athletic Conference) and Jaylin Airington added 10. It was a season-high for the freshman Wrapp, who also had five rebounds and seven assists.

Javonte Maynor’s 3-pointer capped a 17-4 stretch to open the game for Bakersfield. Ahmed’s basket at the 5:41 mark gave them a 25-9 lead - the Roadrunners’ largest of the half - but UTPA closed on a 12-6 run.

Janari Joesaar hit 12 of 16 free throws and finished with 18 points for UTPA (8-17, 2-7). Shaquille Boga added 15 points and six assists.

The Roadrunners had a 37-22 advantage on the glass, including 12-4 on the offensive end.
