Several Republican and Democratic senators appeared on Tuesday night’s episode of the popular NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” including Orrin Hatch, John McCain and Barbara Boxer.

In the episode, Leslie Knope, played by comedian Amy Poehler, meets with Ms. Boxer, runs into Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on the street and gets her autograph, and then meets with Sens. Cory Booker and Orrin Hatch, who say they play Polynesian folk music together in a band called “Across the Isle,” MSNBC reported.

Ms. Knope, who works for the National Park Service, later bumps into Sen. McCain and has lunch with former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, who offers her leadership advice, MSNBC reported.

“Parks & Recreation” is currently in its seventh and final season on NBC. Mr. McCain, Vice President Joseph R. Biden and first lady Michelle Obama have all previously appeared as themselves on the show.

Many of the lawmakers who appeared on the show tweeted photos of themselves with Ms. Poehler.

Sen. Hatch always enjoys meeting with fellow dedicated public servants, like Leslie Knope from Pawnee, Indiana,” the account belonging to Mr. Hatch tweeted.

“I had a lot of fun, and Hatch was a great sport,” Mr. Booker told The Hill.

“Oh my gosh. Yeah, it was fun,” said Mr. Hatch. “He’s a really nice guy… We’ve had a friendship before that.”
