CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police say they’ve identified a male student who posted an online file of about 75 photographs of nude female students at schools north of Charlotte.

Police told local media outlets the girls took the photographs themselves but did not intend for them to be online.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Police Detective Kenny Lynch would not release the male student’s name Wednesday. Lynch said police are discussing with prosecutors what charges might be filed.

All the students are in the Huntersville-Cornelius area.

The pictures were found on Dropbox, an online file sharing site.

Lynch said the girls attend middle school and high school. The youngest is 14.

He said the investigation started Feb. 3 when two Hough High School students went to the principal with a link to the file.
