BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A woman, her daughter and their two dogs escaped unscathed when their southeastern Iowa home went up in flames.

The Hawk Eye reports (https://bit.ly/1Cj2RGP ) Andromeda Marquez-Hulse and her 6-year-old daughter fled after the fire began Wednesday afternoon in Burlington. Firefighters later rescued the family’s two dogs, Pico and Mylowe.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.

Burlington Fire Marshal Mark Crooks says when fire crews arrived at the scene, heavy smoke was billowing from doors and windows. He says the flames were contained to the bathroom and hallway of the one-story house.

Crooks says the fire caused about $21,000 in damage. He says the cause of the fire isn’t considered suspicious, but that it remains under investigation.
