SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Two people have died in a fire in Summerville.

Old Fort Fire Chief Ed Genthert told local media outlets firefighters were called just before 11 p.m. Thursday.

Genthert says the home was in flames when firefighters arrived. The body of a man and woman were found inside. Their names have not been released yet. Two small dogs also died in the fire.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and the State Law Enforcement Division are investigating the cause of the fire.
