PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A federal investigation of heroin trafficking in the Portland area led to 20 raids this week in which 13 people were arrested.

Court documents say the operation has been linked to at least two heroin overdose deaths.

The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/tHxBal ) police raided 20 homes and buildings Wednesday in Portland, Gresham, Beaverton, and Vancouver and Ridgefield, Washington.

A criminal complaint unsealed Thursday says Drug Enforcement Administration investigators have been tracking suspects since November, using wiretaps and tracking cellphones. As many as 21 people could face charges in the case.

Several of the suspects pleaded not guilty Wednesday and Thursday in federal court in Portland.
