DOVER, Del. (AP) - The University of Delaware says a former student who claimed she was raped by a UD athlete has dropped her federal lawsuit.

A stipulation of dismissal in the case was filed Friday in federal court in Wilmington

An attorney for the New Jersey woman, identified in court papers only as “Jane Doe,” declined to comment.

University officials said there was no settlement agreement.

The woman claimed that university officials failed to properly investigate and respond to an assault in 2011, when she was a 19-year-old freshman, that left her with an incurable sexually transmitted disease. She also claimed that her assailant harassed and intimidated her because she divulged that he had infected her.

University lawyers denied the allegations and filed a motion last month for summary judgment in their favor.
