LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives have released a sketch of a man suspected of being involved in the killings of an elderly La Verne couple last year.

A groundskeeper found 74-year-old Shirley Isom and her 89-year-old husband Armie unresponsive inside their home on Dec. 26.

Shirley was pronounced dead at the scene, and Armie died at a hospital.

The woman died of blunt force injuries. Her husband apparently was beaten and stabbed.

City News Service said Friday that the man being sought is described as white or Hispanic and in his early 30s, was wearing a dark hooded jacket and carrying a large backpack.

He was seen walking in the area about the time the crime was discovered.
