LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police released new information Friday in the wounding of a 21-year-old man by a rookie patrol officer during a scuffle with police investigating a disturbance call.

Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill identified the officer who struggled with James Alexander Nelson late Monday as Todd Fasulo Jr., and the officer who shot Nelson as Thomas Griffin.

McMahill also released a police body camera recording from the moments after Nelson was shot at an apartment complex.

It shows a gun on the ground near Nelson and records angry voices of people nearby.

Police say Nelson underwent surgery and is expected to face felony charges including assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

McMahill says Nelson pulled a gun and was turning toward Fasulo when Griffin wounded him.
