DENVER (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a light rail train in downtown Denver.

The Denver coroner’s office identified the victim Friday as 41-year-old Naythan Cordova. The cause and manner of his death have not been released.

Cordova was hit near the Colorado Convention Center at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. It’s unclear where he was hit or how far he was dragged.

The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/1D64fj1 ) that on Friday, police placed a 12-foot warning sign at the Auraria campus light rail station. The Regional Transportation District reported a man playing near the tracks in the area before the accident, but investigators have not said if it was Cordova.

Thursday was Cordova’s birthday.
