STEPHENVILLE, Texas (AP) - The uncle of the former Marine on trial for the fatal shootings of “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle and another man says he and his nephew smoked marijuana together before the shootings.

James Watson testified Friday that the girlfriend of nephew Eddie Ray Routh (ROWTH) had called him the morning of the shootings to say she was worried about Routh after a fight they had.

Watson said he went to Routh’s suburban Dallas house, where he and Routh had a wide-ranging conversation about life, work and relationships while smoking marijuana together.

Watson said he went home and napped, only to be awakened by Routh who showed him a 9 mm handgun and the black truck he was driving. He said Routh told him he was “driving a dead man’s truck.”
