BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - United States immigration officials say more than 5,000 people will become U.S. citizens during a series of naturalization ceremonies with a President’s Day theme.

Among them are 30 people from 16 countries who will take the oath at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural site in Buffalo on Thursday.

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services officials say ceremonies that began Friday are being held around the country through Feb. 22.

The federal agency is encouraging new citizens and guest to tweet photos using the hashtag #newUScitizen.
