LACONIA, N.H. (AP) - Sled dogs and mushers will be out in force this weekend at the 86th World Championship Sled Dog Derby in the New Hampshire town Laconia.

A total of 25 teams are expected to compete in two categories of racing. WMUR-TV reports that the teams will run a six or a 15-mile loop.

The award for the winner in the top class is about $2,000.

The derby runs through Sunday.
