OSTERSUND, Sweden (AP) - Norwegians dominated Saturday’s cross-country World Cup events, with Finn Haagen Krogh winning the men’s 1.2-kilometer classic sprint and Marit Bjoergen taking the women’s race.

Krogh clocked 2 minutes, 25.26 seconds to beat Canada’s Alex Harvey by 0.47 seconds. Fellow Norwegian Timo Andre Bakken came third, 1.41 seconds behind.

Bjoergen finished ahead of Norwegian teammate Maiken Caspersen Falla and Stina Nilsson of Sweden. Bjoergen covered the distance in 2:46.82 - 1.80 seconds faster than Falla, while Nilsson came 2.03 seconds behind.

Bjoergen, the six-time Olympic champion, is expected to dominate the women’s events at the Nordic skiing world championships that start next week in Falun, Sweden.
