SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Police have identified the man shot and killed by officers during a chase on a San Bernardino freeway.

Twenty-three-year-old Jonathan Larry Harden of Banning died at the scene Friday afternoon.

Officers say they tried to pull Harden over after tracking down the stolen 2013 Scion XB he was driving by using the vehicle’s GPS device. According to investigators, Harden refused to stop and led officers on a high-speed chase, running traffic lights and stop signs.

Harden allegedly struck patrol cars several times as he was driving.

He was shot and killed on the northbound Interstate 215 as officers say he collided with another patrol car.
