COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A red flag fire alert warning of dangerous conditions for outdoor burning continues across all of South Carolina.

Forecasters say dry and windy conditions means fires could quickly spread out of control.

The National Weather Service says it expects sustained winds of up to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph on Saturday with relative humidity values around 25 percent.

The state Forestry Commission issued the alert for Saturday. It says the alert doesn’t outlaw burning in many areas. Some local ordinances do ban burning during a red flag alert.

The commission asks people be especially careful if they choose to grill out or burn trash.
